Wayside - cared for by the Goodson family for over 45 years
Mark’s grandfather Herbert moved to Filey in the 1940’s and purchased The Grand Cinema which thrived in the booming Butlins seaside town. During the 1970’s cinema-going declined and as a result his sons Roger and David, left the world of the silver screen to buy Wayside.
Since then Wayside has been handed down father-to-son and Mark Goodson, current custodian of our beautiful parcel of North Yorkshire, welcomes you to the Wayside family.
The Goodson family have always strived to ensure Wayside is a beautiful holiday destination
In the beginning this meant replacing standpipes and gas lighting with direct mains connections and a new shower block for touring visitors. Holidaymakers flocked to the site to savour the facilities, location and the warm welcome.
Over the years Wayside has evolved into a 5* luxury holiday park in beautiful, serene surroundings for both lodge and static holiday homes. Always endeavouring to improve the park, in 2015 we created The Lakes, combining elegant lodges with superb landscaped grounds and tranquil lakes.
