High praise for Wayside in prestigious family business awards

Wayside Park & Lakes topped off a fantastic year by being short-listed for two prestigious awards, the York Press Family Business of the Year and the Ryedale Family Business of the Year.

Recognition within this category was extremely gratifying for owner Mark Goodson, to whom the family business is very important. You can hear what Mark had to say in a short video for the York Press award below…

Mr Goodson, whose family are steeped in the entertainment business and ran iconic cinemas in Filey, Tadcaster and Sleaford, is hoping that 2019 will prove even more successful for Wayside Lakes.

Mr Goodson said:

“Being a family business is absolutely crucial to the success of Wayside Holiday Park and Lakes.

“We like to think of Wayside as a family. From our seasonal touring families to the occupants of our holiday lodges and the team here, myself and Park Director Trevor there’s always a friendly face, a chuckle or conversation drifting between the homes on the park.

“Friendship and family doesn’t stop at our door, we’ve long believed in having friendships with organisations and groups throughout Ryedale and North Yorkshire. They’re relationships we’re both very grateful to have established and proud of our contribution to.”

Mr Goodson also helped to secure the future of a cancer support group in Pickering, just a couple of miles from Wayside’s front door. The Ryedale Cancer Support and Social Group runs free monthly drop in sessions in Pickering.
